Château of Jehay estate

A place of enchantment, offering lovely walks and exciting discoveries.

You'll be delighted and astonished in equal measure by the unique atmosphere and surroundings of this château – architecturally exceptional and unique in Europe, and deservedly listed as an outstanding example of Walloon heritage.

This season sees the unveiling of the fully renovated principal approach to the château. The building is currently undergoing an extensive programme of restoration work. You can, however, see some of the château's major works of art in a special "cabinet of curiosities" located in the outbuildings. You can also take a virtual stroll through the remainder of the château by watching a special 12-minute film.

Visitors also have unique, unrestricted access to the remarkable estate grounds. Impressive 19th century walls conceal a herb and vegetable garden, restored and opened in 2011. This one-hectare plot contains various types of local vegetables, plants, cereals and fruit trees.
